Parkland Health Foundation

Thanks to The Addy Foundation, Parkland has expanded their commitment to women’s health by delivering equitable access to reproductive care and empowering women through education and choice.

For many women and girls throughout Dallas County, unintended pregnancies result in far too many children beginning their lives without access to critical resources, disproportionately affecting teens and women of color. The teen birth rate in the county is 14% higher than the Texas average and 63% higher than the national rate. For many, limited access to contraception, sexual health education, and care, exacerbated by barriers such as cost and transportation, continues to drive this disparity.

The Addy Foundation’s support has enabled Parkland to expand vital services in women’s healthcare. Parkland can provide broader access to contraception and education and extended care beyond the hospital campus through mobile health clinics and a growing network of community-based women’s health centers.

“As one of the largest public hospital systems in Dallas County, Parkland Health remains focused on reaching medically underserved areas and providing world-class, compassionate care to everyone who needs it, regardless of insurance status. Partnering with The Addy Foundation allows us to address barriers to care and empower women in need with affordable reproductive healthcare, resources and education.”
