Visiting Nurse Association

We have partnered with VNA throughout the pandemic to deliver supplies to underserved communities.

Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, VNA Meals on Wheels has continued serving the most vulnerable in Dallas County, ensuring they would not be left hungry and alone. VNA continues delivering hot meals two days a week and providing frozen and shelf-stable meals as well as a breakfast to compensate for the remaining days. The virtual delivery phone calls on non-delivery days give the seniors much-needed socialization.

VNA also provided in-home flu shots for Meals on Wheels clients to help them remain happy, healthy, and safe at home. Additionally, VNA nurses held flu vaccine clinics at partner agencies and senior living complexes throughout Dallas County to help underserved communities access the flu shot at no charge.

In the COVID-19 crisis, more and more seniors and disabled adults need home-delivered meals to ensure their nourishment and safety. The heightened risk of isolation due to the disease has placed a heavy burden on an already struggling population.
